Hi everyone!  I'm singer/songwriter Steven Walsh and I've got a great NEW ALBUM!!  It's name is SOUL DISTORTION under my artist name DEJA EXO.

The music:  It's sounds amazing.  It's sophisticated and wild at the same time.  There's a sense of uniqueness to it, but it's full of history.  It's got drive and soul, beautiful melodies and harmonies, it floats and it stomps.

Over the last couple years I’ve been writing, developing and performing these gifts the universe gave me at open mics and gigs in Long Island, NYC and Baltimore (my hometown).   The responses to these songs, even the first time I'd play them out, was at times so remarkable ... I knew I needed to do an album.

So I tapped my good friend, (and excellent musician, producer, engineer), Mthakathi to help me. We went into his Ikhaya Studios in New Jersey, and got to work!  It's a bit experimental ... the base rhythms are acoustic guitar, in a nod to the singer/songwriter milieu that incubated these songs, but then we layered on background vocals, electric guitars and percussion.
